This Siamese Sala was donated in 1907 by King Chulangkorn of Siam out of gratitude for health regained during his stay in Bad Homburg.

A description of the day of its dedication ceremony (May 22, 1914) gives us an idea of the fascination that this Far Eastern building creates in its location in the middle of the Spa Park:
"Graceful and magnificent in its exotic style, this beautiful temple rises in front of us like a fairy tale from a faraway land. Its bright colors create a gay contrast to the green of its surroundings, and when the gold of its rich ornamentation shines and glitters brightly in the sun, it is as if the whole splendor and legendary wealth of the Far East opened before our eyes."

Bad Homburg, a German city near Frankfurt with historical links with Thailand since almost 100 years when King Rama V stayed there in order to recover his health

Each year, on the occasion of the King Chulalongkorn day which is a national holiday in Thailand, Thais and some Germans join the ceremony paying their respect to King Rama V at his memorial in Bad Homburg's Kurpark.

Representatives of the Royal Thai Embassy in Berlin, Thai Airways, TAT, the Thai Student Association in Germany, Thai Trade Center and from several Thai restaurants and also some Thai and German private individual come to join the ceremony which has already become a tradition in Bad Homburg.
